United Methodist Women

United Methodist Women may be a rather dull-sounding name, but don't let that fool you! It is a vibrant group of mission-minded women whose main interests are those concerning women and children here at home and around the world.

The UMW purpose is: To know God and to experience freedom as a whole person through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The Unit Meeting is held the second Wednesday of each month (except July and August) at 10:00 AM, in the Fellowship Hall, which begins with a brief business meeting, program, and then lunch.

At present, there is one sub-group ("circle"), which meets during the day, usually the fourth Tuesday of each month (except July and August). Other groups may be formed for special interests or different times of day. All women are invited to attend any or all of these meetings. Please check the calendar on the homepage for upcoming dates and times.

Annual scheduled events are the Spring Tea, Vendor/Craft Fair, Bakeless Bake Sale. We usually have a Cluster Meeting in March when we invite UMW members from Hesperia, Wrightwood, Big Bear, and Barstow. Those Units also have cluster meetings to which we are invited. These are very popular events, and everyone enjoys the fellowship.
